CM Punk has been married to former WWE star AJ Lee for quite some time now. They tied the knot in 2014 after making their relationship public in 2013 at a Chicago Cubs game. While the former AEW star continues his second and arguably bigger run in the WWE, Lee retired in 2015. During his return to the company, CM Punk has paid tribute to his wife multiple times.

Nevertheless, one WWE figure revealed that she would have proposed to Lee had Punk not done it first.

Cathy Kelley rues missed opportunity to put a ring on AJ Lee after CM Punk did it first

Catherine Anne Kelley, a.k.a Cathy Kelley, is best known as the backstage interviewer on WWE SmackDown. She is also part of the AfterBuzz TV panelist. While having a kayfabe relationship with Rhea Ripley, she has now confessed to the one WWE star she wanted to put a ring on. Taking to social media, she said, “I’m aware. i would have put a ring on his wife if i got to her first.”

This was a reply to a post by the parody account CATKELLEY ACKNOWLEDGED AJ LEE. The account asked if she knew that the former WWE Divas champion was already married to Punk. Before this, there were speculations that Kelley and Ripley were together based on their flirtatious banter. However, Ripley has been in a relationship with AEW star Buddy Matthews in real life while Dom Dom occupies the role in kayfabe.

Today, her relationship status remains out of the limelight but she likes to fuel rumors online. This post has done exactly that with the rumors that Lee may be making a comeback.

Fans still hope that Lee returns to the WWE

Since Punk made his return to the company, fans have wondered if Lee would do the same. While Punk nor Lee have officially said anything regarding it, speculation of the prospect has run rampant. A video of Punk trianing with Lee went viral, fueling the speculations. The WWE Universe never thought it would be possible to witness the second coming of CM Punk after the nature of his exit from the promotion in 2014. However, pro wrestling has once again proven that you can never say never in this business.

Lee, who posted an image of her current physique, shocked fans. The 37-year-old with no relation to wrestling for 9 years still looked incredible.
