It is an exciting time to be a pro wrestling fan. A lot has happened over the past few weeks since. It was announced that Dwayne Johnson will be taking Cody Rhodes’ spot at WrestleMania 40. Fans started campaigning that they wanted to see Cody Rhodes challenge Roman Reigns. At the Kickoff press event, fans saw a different Dwayne Johnson. After calling the fans of Rhodes “crybabies”, Johnson did something that left the fans confused.

Dwayne Johnson sends a reminder

At the event, Johnson pulled out the Samoan Family tree for the fans. He then explained how his grandfather and Roman Reigns’s grandfather had taken a blood oath and were “Brothers by Blood.”  The point he was trying to prove here was that the Samoan Family according to him is one of the pioneers in pro wrestling. After saying this, he went on to shake his hand with Roman Reigns stating that the two are “bounded by blood.”

He claimed that his showdown with Reigns would be the biggest event in WWE’s history. He backed up this claim by stating that the Anoa’i Family is the only dominant and powerful family in wrestling, along with their lineage and bloodline.

Following this, Johnson extended his hand to Reigns and the two exchanged a smile showing an allegiance. However, the handshake between the two has left fans confused about whether he will face Reigns or if has he aligned with his cousin.

But this confusion of fans was quickly resolved when Cody Rhodes showed up.

Cody Rhodes got slapped

Just when the two brothers hugged out, Rhodes entered the scene. He claimed that he would challenge Roman Reigns and would fight him at WrestleMania 40 no matter what. To this, Reigns responded by saying that Rhodes should now leave as he is embarrassing his late father, Dusty Rhodes. The American Nightmare did not take it lightly and stated that if his and Johnson’s grandfather had been alive today, he would have been disappointed in Reigns. This prompted Johnson to slap Rhodes.

This marks the fact that the things between the two are not the same. Johnson will be standing as a major roadblock ahead of Rhodes. This will make it difficult for Rhodes to finish his story.
