Roman Reigns walked out with yet another successful title defense last Saturday. Several fans present at Crown Jewel this year were rooting for LA Knight to secure the victory. However, Reigns’ cheap tricks allowed him to dodge the embarrassment of losing his title. While some viewers question WWE’s move regarding the outcome, a WWE legend recently gave his verdict on the same, and it’s opposite to the general view.

According to Mark Henry, what the Stamford-based company is doing with The Tribal Chief is completely acceptable. This is because Henry believes that Reigns and his combined story with The Bloodline is keeping WWE afloat.

Roman Reigns’ role in the promotion has become quite predictable. The wrestler shows up after a hiatus to feud with the ‘hot’ star at the moment and gets a match with him. Then, he goes on to win the match with the help of outside interference, retains the title, and then goes on another break. While some fans are finding this routine monotonous, Mark Henry supports it while also comparing him to WWE legend Andre The Giant.

He started off by comparing Reigns to Michael Jordan by saying that neither of the two stars can be skipped if we are talking about their respective sports. Then, Henry confessed that if he was the head of WWE and Reigns was in the powerful position that he is now, he would have let the wrestler take all the breaks he wanted because, without him, the ratings would take a dive.

‘The World’s Strongest Man’ even compared Reigns to Andre. The reason behind the same was not related to their physical attributes, but to the stature they have in the promotion and among fans. Mark Henry said, “If I only get the usage of him 5-10 times a year, I’m good with that. It’s worth it. Same thing it was with Andre (The Giant). Roman Reigns has become the modern-day-Andre.

The support from the WWE Hall of Famer doesn’t change the opinion that wrestling fans have already formed surrounding ‘The Head of the Table’. According to them, WWE needs to come up with something new.

Roman Reigns has been ruling the wrestling promotion for a long time now. While fans used to love him as a heel, they have started to dislike the ‘template’ that WWE is using in the matches including Roman Reigns. More than the problem that fans have with his supremacy, it is probable that they are finding WWE’s way a bit monotonous.

Roman Reigns’ Absence Is Starting to Reflect His Popularity Among Fans
