The United States of America is currently buzzing with a lot of election-related news, and Dwayne Johnson finds himself in several of these discussions. The Rock has been making several headlines as several Americans see him as a potential presidential candidate. 

Interestingly, more news has been received about the origin that started the very discussion featuring Johnson as the office bearer at the White House. Ex-WWE star Chavo Gurrero recently spoke about Dwayne Johnson and his approach in the making of the ‘Young Rock’ series. In fact, the 53-year-old who worked on Johnson’s project revealed that The Rock was very invested and involved in everything.

Chavo Guerrero made an appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s podcast and gave a personal account of his time on the sets of Young Rock. Speaking about the filming process and The Rock’s involvement, Guerrero said, “he was definitely hands-on during Young Rock. Really the main wrestling guys were Brian Gewirtz and myself.” As Guerrero continued, he paused as he reminisced about working alongside Dwayne Johnson.

He added, “We really had a lot to say with wrestling, but we always deferred to Rocky.” The former Cruiserweight Champion continued, “I still call him Rocky. To Dwayne, yeah. We really deferred to Dwayne and everything because that’s his show it was his character that. It was his story, so any of the wrestling stuff, we kind of would run it by Dwayne a lot of times.” Chavo Guerrero appreciated the approachable nature of Dwayne Johnson. 

Guerrero further added, “And you know he’d give the thumbs up or ‘hey change that um add this’. You know stuff like that.” This only shows that Dwayne Johnson took great care of what went inside the show to the last detail. 

This translates into higher credits for his work ethic. However, it could also mean that he was invested in the idea of becoming the president as well.

Several events now find a direct connection between Dwayne Johnson and his chances of contesting the 2024 presidential elections. While the Young Rock series had only started subtle commentary on the topic, his interview with Trevor Noah fueled those sparks.

The Rock ended up revealing that representatives of both US parties had approached him with the prospect of running for president. Both parties had done their homework and told the former WWE Champion that he stood an enormous chance of winning according to their research. Moreover, his recent visit to the Pentagon also triggered several speculations regarding his potential POTUS candidacy.

While these stories hold a strong base, Johnson has not openly declared any current or future involvement in politics.
