CM Punk has confirmed that he suffered an injury at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, a match in which he made the final two before being eliminated by eventual winner, Cody Rhodes.

A teary-eyed Punk opened the show on Monday Night Raw and revealed that he has torn his right tricep which appeared to suggest that he likely won’t be able to make WrestleMania this year.

“WrestleMania 40 I guess it’s not in the cards for me, but I am a Chicago Cubs fan and this isn’t the first time and it won’t be the last time I say this, there’s always next year,” the Chicago based star added further.

Drew McIntyre then interrupted the emotional moment, and the two cut a promo before the former attacked Punk, and Sami Zayn came out to make the save.
