“You’re Welcome”: 33-Year-Old Star Claims Credit After John Cena and Cody Rhodes Ignite NXT 10/10

The NXT on October 10 was a star-studded evening, where apart from Asuka and Rhea Ripley, fans got to see many stars. It also included Dominik Mysterio and his face-off with Ilja Dragunav, which was announced by The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes. Apart from that, John Cena was present on the scene, supporting rising star, Carmelo Hayes.

Both John Cena and Cody Rhodes are the talk of the town as they had recently defeated The Bloodline and The Judgment Day at the Fastlane respectively. But one 33-year-old star claims the credit for making these stars popular. 

Cena and Rhodes had the special rub

A few hours after NXT was aired, Grayson Waller took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal the secret behind John Cena and Cody Rhodes’ ‘sudden’ rise to fame. He wrote, “Cena and Cody appear on the Grayson Waller Effect, and all of a sudden they’re the talk of the wrestling world. You’re welcome @ShawnMichaels #WWENXT”. With this comment, he took a snub at not only John Cena and Cody Rhodes but also at NXT overseer Shawn Michaels as the stars ‘made popular by him’ were present on the show.

It was previously announced that Cody Rhodes will be seen on NXT’s October 10th episode making an announcement. On the other hand, Carmelo Hayes had enlisted John Cena’s help a few weeks ago. For that reason, John Cena decided to be at ringside during the match. John Cena’s presence had attracted another star to the scene, Paul Heyman. However, it was later revealed that his true intentions were something else.

Grayson Waller’s obsession

By this time, fans are familiar with Grayson Waller’s obsession with John Cena. The 33-year-old star has mocked Cena on social media on multiple occasions. One time Waller tweeted saying that John Cena makes time to give to the WWE universe. He found this inspiring because he had back-to-back flops on the social media website, X. He had also sent a double-edged message to the star. As Cena was set to appear on The Grayson Waller Effect, a special segment hosted by Waller, WWE posted a question saying what advice would one give to John Cena ahead of his appearance on the show.

To this Waller replied, “Take a second to let the moment sink in, dreams do come true.” At first, fans thought that Waller was having a fan moment. But later on, fans suggested that he was being his usual self and saying that The Leader of The Cenation’s dreams were going to come true. After The Rock’s return, he even warned John Cena that he might steal all the light from Cena.
