Now, in an engaging conversation with his very close friend, Kevin Hart, Johnson spoke about the movie’s failure.

In a video posted by Neb, Johnson mentions how the movie got caught in a “vortex”, highlighting changes in leadership and covid as important factors for the failure of the movie.

He quoted: “It’s like new ownership coming in, buying an NFL team and going got my head coach, got my quarterback, doesn’t matter how many times you’ve won the super bowl, doesn’t matter how many rings you got, I’m going with somebody else.”

Calling it a mystery, The Rock also said how the movie had the biggest opener of his career yet, failed to sustain momentum, and ultimately crashed. However, those weren’t the only drawbacks.

Black Adam, unfortunately, didn’t align with James Gunn’s vision for the DCU and hence didn’t work. The movie couldn’t recover its budget of $400 million and collected only $250 million, causing huge losses.
