Holywood heavyweight Dwayne Johnson has been tagged as an exceptional actor all across the globe. Apart from his one-of-a-kind charisma, DJ’s ability to put himself in any character’s shoes in the most seamless way earned him the topmost place in the industry.

Production teams might have been running behind him with the script in their hand to bring The Rock ‘X’ factor in favor of their movies. But probably the best prize of his talent was many of his celebrity admirers including NFL starlet James Conner, tuning themselves with the actor, sometimes, to the point of thinking of him as the protagonist of their biopics.

James Conner of the Pittsburgh Steelers has made a decorative NFL career worth taking a look back through the big screen. The popular NFL face has his own share of struggles in life to reach the top in his craft and according to the trendy practice among superstars, a filming of a biopic was supposed to be dug up in discussions.

It went exactly this way when he sat for a one-to-one discussion with TMZ Sports back in 2020. The Steelers running back has been asked to voice his pick for a potential future biopic.

Conner kept The Rock at the top of the list of his preferred casting choices, saying, ”I was thinking of The Rock or somebody, I’ve been in the gym, I got some tattoos – you know, The Rock, I know he’s getting up there, but … if one day it does come to the screen, it’ll be awesome. I need somebody to knock that role out of the park, though.”

Apart from this outward resemblance that Conner mentioned, DJ can do full justice in portraying Conner’s battle with cancer as well, as he has a soft spot for all cancer patients and can empathize with them to the core.

Johnson was an ideal catch for the role due to his ability to tune in to the emotion of cancer survivors

Conner was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgin’s Lymphoma, a rare blood cancer back in 2016. However, he was later declared cancer free and resumed his sport in full swing. Thanks to the ultra-developed treatment method and the NFL superstar’s undying effort, that worked in his favor.

On the flip side, Dwayne Johnson, despite not having any history of any fatal health issue, seems to be unbelievably sensitive to the dire struggle of all those patients around the globe. He came out multiple times to uplift many cancer survivors, either morally or financially. The latest instance of this came in the form of DJ arranging and serving a surprise lunch for a 12-year-old cancer survivor, Luna Perrone, a tiny fan of him.

So, needless to say, James Conner wasn’t wrong with his casting choice.

The movie, however, didn’t materialize so far. It will be fascinating to see The Rock as James Conner someday whatsoever.
