Wrestling legend-turned-Hollywood megastar John Cena hosting Payback was bound to get crazy. The WWE veteran never fails to entertain his fans, and that is what he did again. He announced himself as the special guest referee for The Miz vs. LA Knight bout and the fans went crazy.

The match was already an interesting one as two of the most entertaining men in WWE were to go one-on-one in the middle of the ring. But Cena adding himself to the mix just made it even better. It thrills the WWE Universe to have Cena as a special guest referee for a match today.

John Cena wants to make Payback 2023 even more special

After the opening bout of today’s premium live event, John Cena came out to the ring to address the crowd of PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He stated that during his illustrious tenure in WWE; he has done a lot of things except for being a host of an event.

So as a host, it is his job to make the Payback event more special and thus he decided to appoint himself the special guest referee for The Miz vs. Knight match. Well, the fans did expect him to do something more than just host the Payback event.
