The seeds for this rivalry were sown two months back on May 15th when the two met for the first time. MVP approached Apollo Crews backstage and offered his services.
After weeks and weeks of MVP persuading Crews, the U.S champ appeared on the VIP lounge. Crews then spilled the truth to MVP, claiming Mr. 305 needed Crews more than vice versa.
Bobby Lashley would attack Crews that night, sparking the beginning of the feud.
A couple of weeks later, MVP revealed the new United States championship and claimed himself as the ‘real’ champion. This event occurred a week after the June 29th edition of RAW where MVP had defeated Crews in a non-title match.
The two Superstars were scheduled to face-off at Extreme Rules to crown the real United States Champion. Unfortunately, Crews could not compete and MVP again was the self-proclaimed United States champion.
As Crews has been missing from WWE TV, MVP has been growing his brand.
Mr.305 signed Shelton Benjamin to his group following which the latter became the 24/7 champion. The trio is now known as the Hurt Business.
For weeks now, MVP has taken constant digs at Apollo Crews. However, this week, it is time for MVP to walk the talk.
