Former WWE Champion and current New Day member, Kofi Kingston, has been an integral part of the WWE Royal Rumble. He has been participating in the match since 2009 and this would have been his 12th appearance. However, things are a bit tricky right now.

As we mentioned above, Kofi has continuously participated in the match for eleven years. Although he never won the match, Kingston entertained the fans with his entertaining acrobatic skills. However, 2021 may not be Kingston’s 12th year.

Kofi suffered a jaw injury a few weeks back on WWE RAW. He also had some teeth broken when the New Day lost the RAW Tag Team titles to Hurt Business at TLC 2020.

“I gotta apologize because I feel like I’m talking out of the side of my mouth and I’m dealing with, like, a jaw injury right now, and my mouth is only closing on one side,” Kofi told fans in an IGTV video. “So, if I sound kind of funny, that’s why. Ordinarily, I do a lot of imitations, impersonations, and impressions, but I’m not doing that right now. I’m just… I’m talking funny trying to figure this situation out.”

Apart from Kingston, Dolph Ziggler is also a veteran of the Rumble match. Ziggler, who is one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, has confirmed his entry into this year’s Battle Royale. Hence, he is one step closer to matching Kane’s record 13 appearances.

Edge returned last week on WWE RAW to confirm his entry but not Kofi Kingston

As fans hate to see such an amazing streak ending, they hoped that Kofi would return to Raw and announce his entry into the match.

However, another return happened instead of Kofi as the ‘Rated-R’ superstar Edge returned after a long hiatus. He announced his entry into the match.
