Things did not go well for Team SmackDown at WWE Survivor Series. Despite having a tremendous team with veterans like Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens, the Blue Brand failed to save face.

The traditional 5-on-5 Tag Team match was the first one in the anticipated pay-per-view. With Team RAW entering (and arguing) first, Team SmackDown looked much more organized.

The self-proclaimed Team RAW leader, AJ Styles, and Jey Uso started things off as Paul Heyman watched on from backstage. After a tussle among themselves, Riddle and Kevin Owens fought each other, with SmackDown having the advantage. Owens targeted Riddle’s barefoot to gain the advantage.

Riddle crawled to the corner and tagged Sheamus in the ring. Then, Seth Rollins wanted the tag in. Owens, although hesitant, tagged him in. Things went downhill from here.

Rollins dropped to his knees and taunted Sheamus, telling him to “do his part.” A shocked Sheamus went in for a Brogue Kick and leveled Rollins while he was on his knees. Sheamus covered and eliminated Rollins as the rest of the Team SmackDown looked on in disbelief.

Team SmackDown lost to Team RAW despite many efforts

Team SmackDown tried to regroup and recover from the shocking elimination, but Braun Strowman ran right through them into the barricade. Strowman brought Corbin to the ring and yelled at his other red brand teammates.

After a while, the super heavyweights from the brands, Otis and Lee, sized each other up. Lee collided with a shoulder and two more, but Otis was still up. After some struggle, Strowman tagged in and tried to overpower Otis. Owens and Lee then went at each other.

Owens threw him off the ring and delivered Stunners to members of Team RAW. However, the red brand had the last laugh as Styles eliminated Owens with the Phenomenal Forearm.

King Corbin came in only to get eliminated with a Broton from Riddle. Strowman and Otis then got into the ring. Otis showed great agility with the Caterpiller but in vain. Strowman scooped him with the running power slam for the pin to eliminate Otis.

Jey Uso was the last man standing as Heyman looked on, visibly uncomfortable. Every member of RAW had a go at him. However, he had an opening as Uso overpowered Styles. Post that, Keith Lee scored the victory with a spirit bomb on Uso.

Thus, Team RAW won the PPV’s first match with a clean sweep on the Blue Brand. This loss is both devastating and embarrassing for Team SmackDown.
