SummerSlam has always been a house for the biggest and most sensational returns to the ring. Nothing makes the crowd love the show than experiencing the return of a big star and Triple H just has a big one in the bag for them this year. This ex-WWE star’s return to the show will surely rock the system as he is spotted backstage.

Just like last year, seeing Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO Sky return, this big return could also make the audience pop off in a huge way. Maybe this could be a start of a new faction in WWE as well.

According to a report from PWInsider, the former WWE champion, Kofi Kingston is seen backstage. For context, Kingston hasn’t been seen in a WWE ring for more than five months. But he isn’t the only one spotted backstage. Along with him, there’s also MVP, Tomasso Ciampa, and NXT’s Trick Williams.

One reason for this bunch of wrestlers could be that, just like Damage CTRL last year, this could be the debut of another big faction. Either way, seeing Kingston back always puts the audience in a great mood. Especially when his New Day partner, Big E’s news broke the hearts of many yesterday. But this could act as a new way for Kingston to reinvent his character, something that the former WWE champion is a master at.

Factions wrestling has popped off in WWE at the moment. Just the popularity of The Judgement Day and The Bloodline is proof enough for that argument. Even at the moment, WWE is building another faction which some are calling a revival of The Hurt Faction. But a mega-group with Kingston, Ciampa, and especially the veteran MVP, could bring some needed competition to the above-mentioned factions.

With last year’s WarGames, WWE needs more factions to build their dominance from here onward. With New Day’s dwindling down on TV it isn’t a shock that Kingston would be open to doing more experimental things with his veteran career.
