Throughout his career, John Cena boasted an impressive physique that put even the big names in the industry to shame. Before becoming an actor, Cena was one of the biggest names in pro wrestling, and arguably the biggest in WWE.

He had one of the most successful careers in WWE, filled with many achievements. He also tasted success quite early in his career, thanks to his impressive aura, promo skills, and his ripped physique. However, not many people might know, but Cena also participated in competitive bodybuilding before becoming a wrestler.

During his bodybuilding career, Cena had a very ripped and chiseled physique, and his gimmick in WWE required him to be a powerhouse. And Cena, incidentally, was one of the strongest in the business. His training often required to him lift heavy weights.

John Cena once revealed how much he bench-pressed. And it was nearly the same as the bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. While Schwarzenegger bench-pressed a massive 525 pounds, Cena revealed he lingered around 465 pounds. Cena was 60 pounds shy of touching Schwarzenegger’s feat. However, it is still impressive, considering John Cena was a wrestler, and not a bodybuilder.

The Leader of Cenation had to end his bodybuilding career prematurely and join pro wrestling. Although he touched the epitome of success in pro wrestling, the same would have been doubtful in bodybuilding, but he did nearly beat Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bench-press record.

Cena has often been associated with returning earlier to tv tapings than his estimated time of recovery related to both real and reel injuries. His most unexpected and surprising comeback was during the 2008 Royal Rumble, when he returned and won the event. A fitness freak, Cena is now associated with the DCEU, which will force him to maintain his physique.
