WWE has never shied away from recreating pop culture moments to draw inspiration from the outside world. And this is not evident any bigger than the entrances of the wrestlers at a big event. This is exactly when Triple H pulled off one of the most iconic characters from Hollywood history. It was none other than T-800 from the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Terminator.
This entrance became one of the most memorable moments in WrestleMania. But as we all know, the paperwork behind bringing such an iconic character to life is gruesome. You need permission from the company. In addition to that, the imitation needs to be perfect so as to not anger fans of the character. Former WWE VP talks about Triple H WrestleMania 31 entrance involving the iconic character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger
In an interview with Essentially Rasslin, Rob Kligman, the former VP of WWE, revealed, “So, we worked with Paramount back in the day, and it was WrestleMania in San Francisco. I think it was 31. We had the Terminator, everyone come out of the ground, the platform. It was an awesome entry, and that was really the first we’d done as sort of an entrance. We eventually did it again with Final Fantasy with New Day.”

“So, that was a really ground-breaking opportunity, that we were able to marry that together and that was a great relationship with the studio, Paramount, and a great opportunity to work with. In that case, we did very close creative work with Triple H to pull that one off and by far it looked really good. We had Arnold do the opening graphic, sort of, to introduce WrestleMania.”

While Kligman noted that this was the first WrestleMania entrance where a character from someone else was the centerpiece, there have been many in the years since. Seth Rollins, New Day (like he mentioned), and Zelina Vega are just some of the ones who really go all out in their entrances.
