Matt Hardy Provides Exact Details of Why Jeff Hardy Turned Down a WWE Hall of Fame Induction: ‘They Actually Spoke With a Lawyer to Help Them Out’

The Hardy Boyz was one of the teams that defined the attitude-era tag team division. Fans loved them because of their extreme wrestling style and cool, funky outfits. However, Matt and Jeff left WWE and were wrestling elsewhere before making a big surprise return at WrestleMania 33.
As of today, both men are not part of the company anymore. While Jeff Hardy survived the budget cut releases, he received his marching orders after he turned down rehab following an incident at a house show.

Matt Hardy, currently progressing in making an alternative career in podcasts, has also started a Twitch account. On his latest Twitch appearance, he confirmed Jeff Hardy’s current status with WWE.

Matt said, “My brother and his wife dealt with WWE and the drug test thing quite a bit. They actually spoke with a lawyer and kinda had them help them out a little bit. And just a couple of days ago, he got his drug test back and the drug test is compliant. Everything was negative, and he passed on all levels.”
Matt Hardy confirmed today on Twitch that Jeff Hardy got back his drug tests from WWE and everything came back clean.

Jeff is currently under WWE’s no-compete clause till early March. However, he already has his next booking. He will compete in his first match at Big Time Wrestling alongside Matt Hardy on 12th March. It will see The Hardy Boyz reunite for the first time since 2019.

The former WWE Champion has claimed that now he is clean and does not want to go back to those days. Matt Hardy confirmed this news and also said WWE offered Jeff Hardy a Hall of Fame induction as part of the class of 2022.
Jeff Hardy rejected the offer and simply asked for his test result to clear his name. While he isn’t keen on the HOF induction, he hasn’t said no to returning to the ring with another promotion.
