“Yes I Will Be There” – Rafael Nadal Confirms Participation at French Open 2020

World No.2 Rafael Nadal recently revealed that he is pessimistic about the return of the tennis tour this year. Moreover, he is worried more about the Australian Open 2021. Nevertheless, the Spaniard is now less optimistic about resumption of the tour, which is halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier, the French Tennis Federation took a unilateral decision to postpone the French Open 2020 from its original commencement day in May to the last week of September in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

“If we can play in optimal conditions” – Rafael Nadal on playing French Open 2020
It is still uncertain when the tour will resume as the deadly virus continues to sweep through the globe. However, the organizers of the French Open still remain hopeful that they can hold the event later in September. Subsequently, Nadal has also confirmed that he would participate in the event if it takes place in September.
“I don’t see the future from a professional point of view. But I see it rather from a medical, health point of view,” said Nadal in an interview with Stade 2.

“If we can play in optimal conditions and in complete safety, if everyone can participate, if all that is together, yes I will be there,” the 12-time champion said regarding the Roland Garros.
“But, today, it takes precautions and responsibilities with adequate decisions to ensure the safety and health of everyone in tennis,” he concluded.
