Gilbert Burns after this insane fight, in the post-match interview called out his next opponent. In a post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, he called out Colby Covington. He said, “ “I got next — Colby Covington,” Burns shouted. “You gonna see me. I’m gonna beat you up.”
He’s (Gilbert Burns) has done his side of the job. He called out Colby. Now we have to wait and see what Colby has to say in response to this.

Gilbert Burns knocked out Damian Maia in a truly dominant fashion. Despite being taken down by Damian’s famous back take, he managed to get back to his feet. He struck Maia with a powerful hook and turned the entire round in his favor. Damian fell flat onto the mat and Gilbert didn’t spare him in this compromising position. Gilbert rained punched down on him till the referee was forced to stop the match and rule it in Burn’s favor. He won this via knockout.

“Durinho” is now 3-0 in the welterweight division. He moved back to welterweight in August of 2019. Gilbert Burns boasts a record of 18-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC. HE wants to add to this tally and also add great names to his list of opponents. What better way to do that than call out Colby Covington. Colby is Burn’s best bet to climb up the ranks of the welterweight division.

Colby now holds a record of 15-2-0 and Burns is after making a prominent dent in this record. He wants to take on Colby, prove to everyone in the division he isn’t someone new. He’s here for the title and will take anyone who comes in his way. The fight with Colby will sure send a strong message.
For now, Burns can celebrate his win over Damian. He’s eager to fight but we’ll have to wait for Colby to respond and also see if the UFC deems this a match they want to see next.
