World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been rewriting the history books this season. Unfortunately, the Serb missed out on the historic Calendar Slam in September with his loss in the US Open final. But, as we approach the end of the season, he has a chance of doing something that no player has ever managed.
If things go according to plan and Novak Djokovic wins the Paris title, he will secure the year-end ranking as the World No. 1 player for a record 7th time. At the moment, he is tied with former player and legend, Pete Sampras on six.

Novak Djokovic is en route to create history
These two incredible feats are awaiting Djokovic if he manages to go on and win the title. However, things are not going to be easy for him as he will be facing some of the biggest names in the game. The biggest challenge for him would be to overcome the Russian powerhouse, who is challenging him for the top spot in rankings.
Both Djokovic and Medvedev were involved in two important matches this season. Djokovic won the first match in Melbourne, which helped him win his 9th Australian Open title.
