Activision and security flaws seem to be like two peas in a pod. Since the launch of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone, there have been numerous reports of hackers, cheaters, unjustified bans etc. But even after handing out lawsuits to a couple of cheat manufacturers, Activision’s troubles are far from over.

According to popular Call of Duty YouTuber ‘The Gaming Revolution’, Activision accounts are reportedly being hacked and leaked online.

“Activision accounts are apparently being leaked so change your password, although that might not even help because they’re apparently generating 1,000 accounts every 10 minutes.”

This is an alarming situation considering there are over 75 million people playing Warzone, globally. If this is true, Activision has failed its users yet again, and the consequences of this could be severe.

Fans expressed their disappointment upon hearing this bit of news.

Activision doesn’t even have two-step verification in place

Having a two-step verification to secure your accounts is absolutely basic. Activision surely knows that its accounts and games have a security flaw. The company not doing anything to prevent this, despite the knowledge, puts a lot of things into perspective.

Reports suggest hackers are selling Fortnite accounts on the black market. Such hackers have made millions off this illegal activity and a company like Epic is struggling to deal with it. Something similar is probably beginning to happen with Activision accounts, and the studio need to buckle up for the flak they might have to face.

Activision has also been fairly lazy in responding to cheating concerns in the past. Additionally, Warzone and Modern Warfare still don’t have an anti-cheat software in place. This seems ridiculous considering it is not possible for the developers to check every single report about hackers in the game.

There is a glimmer of hope, though. Recent reports suggest that Activision is working on an anti-cheat software for the upcoming Black Ops Cold War title. The obvious reaction to this would be ‘about damn time’, but at least they are waking up now. Still, Activision have no time to sit back and relax. They need to take immediate measures to stop the players from boycotting their games altogether.
