Andy Murray, one of the big four players of this generation, finally made a comeback after an injury. He underwent two hip surgeries earlier. Without a surprise, in the ongoing season, he is struggling with his form. However, Murray was slowly picking the pace and was marching towards regaining his grip on the matches.

But an injury at the Stuttgart Open brought him back to square one. He suffered a gruesome left abdominal injury during the finals against Matteo Berrettini. The injury hampered his game in Wimbledon and now a new issue has surfaced which might target the US Open.
Andy Murray about being pestered by cramps
The former World no.1 recently walked out of the Cincinnati Masters after incurring a second-round defeat and while speaking to the press, he opened up about the frequent cramps. He said, “I think pretty much every tennis player in their career has cramped…. But the consistency of it for me is a big concern. You know, it’s not something that I have really experienced.”

“It’s not easy to play when it gets bad, like it was at the end. Yeah, I feel like it had an impact on the end of the match. I’m not saying whether I would for sure win the match or not, but it certainly affected the way that I played a little bit right at the end, you know, from the middle of that set,” he added. Murray lost his position in the last 16 of the tournament against fellow British tennis ace Cameron Norrie in a three-set long match of 6-3 3-6 4-6.

Thereafter, in the context of his first-round clash with the Swiss professional Stan Wawrinka, he confessed, “The same against Stan. I was fortunate to get through that one. I was lucky.” Now the three-time Grand Slam champion’s next stop will be the US Open. Though with his condition and history of injury, the dream seems far-fetched.
Murray in the Stuttgart Open
The Brit played marvelously in the Stuttgart Open. After having a run till the round of 16 of the Madrid Open and semi-finals in the Surbiton Trophy, Murray jumped on the grass courts of the ATP 250 event. There, he took down some high-caliber players to book a match with the Italians.

In the quarterfinals, he squared off with the World no. 7 Stefanos Tsitsipas and outclassed him straight sets of 7-6 (4) 6-3. Following that, he locked horns with the 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios. He managed to take a straight win over the Aussie as well, but in the finals, the unfortunate injury anchored him and slipped his first trophy of this season.
