World No.3 Dominic Thiem recently lost to former World No.3 Grigor Dimitrov at the Australian Open 2021. What was even more surprising was that the runner-up of the Australian Open last year, Thiem, lost in straight sets.

It was a memorable moment for Dimitrov as he managed to bagel the Austrian in the last set and dominated the entire match. The final scoreline of the match read 6-4, 6-4, 6-0.

In a recent interview, his father and mentor Wolfgang Thiem revealed many startling facts. According to him, it was his former coach Gunter Bresnik’s statements that burdened Dominic Thiem at the Australian Open 2021.

“Bresnik has to take a bit of control because he definitely didn’t train him as a person. It’s up to the family, and my wife and I did it. He has to do it a bit deal more carefully. Of course, something like that is a burden, that is no question,” added Thiem senior.
