After winning a tough quarterfinal against compatriot Ben Shelton, he became the victim of a rampant  Novak Djokovic.

Although he was unable to win the title, the American lost against the best and will carry good memories back. It also was special for the American, as he had his girlfriend Paige Lorenze by his side. The couple recently left Australia after an eventful outing.
