Recently, an American tennis player took a walk down memory lane while recalling a clash against Federer.
As a 43-year-old, not only has James Blake been a part of the Big Three era, but he has also put up some of his best performances against them. Not only did he recall the face-off, but he also added the cherry on top by talking about the Swiss Legends tennis prowess.

James Blake recalls facing Roger Federer
From attending Harvard to reaching the 4th position in the tennis world, the former American tennis star came a long way. However, during his time on the court, he got an opportunity to stand tall against the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
Blake recently took to his Twitter account to share his take on Federer’s personality off the court, which makes him great on the professional front. Along with that, he wrote, “Annoyingly good. If he wasn’t such a nice guy, I would really dislike him.”

In addition, he also shared a video of what took place in the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in 2008. Although it’s been 15 years, the memory of playing against the Swiss tennis legend is quite fresh in Blake’s mind. In the 2008 quarter-final clash, it was the 43-year-old tennis legend who displayed amazing tennis and defeated his rival then and there.
Subsequently, he explained how, because of the defeat, he might hate Federer, but his personality off the court is something that should never be disliked. Nevertheless, earlier this year, in an interview with the Pure Tennis podcast, the former world number one talked about the zealous nature of Federer and put forward his admiration for his rival.

James Blake’s take on Roger Federer’s personality
In a podcast show, the American player talked about how the 20-time Grand Slam champion wants to win every tennis match whenever he steps on the court. Along with that, he also talked about his admiration for the Swiss legend. He said, “But I also think when I did finally beat him at the Olympics, I swear, he was genuinely happy for me said hey, go ahead and win this whole thing.”
Not only that but at Blake’s comeback, the former world number one was the one who motivated him to give his best on the court. Moreover, while sharing how hungry Federal was to win matches, he also stated that at the same time, he is a nice and genuine person.
