Carlos Alcaraz has won the Croatian Open in Umag and has become the youngest to win an ATP title since 2008. He has emulated Kei Nishikori’s successful run from 2008 at the Delray Beach Open when he was 18-years old. Unsurprisingly, the young Spaniard has drawn inspiration from Rafael Nadal, his countryman.
The Spanish wonder boy beat Richard Gasquet of France in straight sets. He broke no sweat in getting past the French veteran, beating him 6-2, 6-2.

Carlos Alcaraz Garcia wants to go on dinner with Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal
The young boy won his first ATP title in his maiden ATP final appearance. In a fun post-match interview, he was asked about the three celebrity guests he would go to dinner with. The Spaniard spoke highly of his three choices, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
“I don’t know. Let’s say Rafa, Federer and Djokovic,” said Carlos on his dinner question. “I grew up watching them winning tournaments, winning Grand Slams and I think they’re three of the best in history. For me, it’s amazing to play against them on the same circuit. I’m a lucky guy to learn from them,” a young Carlos described his inspiration drawn from and admiration for The Big 3.

What’s next for Carlos?
The youngster won the Croatia Open on Sunday and went straight to Austria from Umag. He had his Austrian Open’s first-round match in Kitzbuhel. However, the youngster could not repeat his heroics in Austria and crashed out in the first round itself against Alexander Erler.
On the other hand, Carlos has moved up to a new career-high ranking of 55 on the ATP rankings. He has moved up 18 places from his previous ranking of 73rd place. The man dreams about becoming the World No.1, as he has previously mentioned in his interviews.
