Carlos Alcaraz has etched his name into the history books of the US Open after claiming a semi-final spot with a thrilling win over Jannik Sinner. With a tough battle of five hours and 15 minutes, the youngster established a new all-time record at Flushing Meadows.

The Spaniard was at his brilliant best, winning 65% of points on his second serve, which was his biggest weapon in a match that frequently went back and forth; both players pushed each other to the limit. Eventually, Carlos defeated Jannik Sinner with a score of 6-3, 6-7 (7/9), 6-7 (0/7), 7-5, 6-3.

Once the match concluded, Alcaraz was living his dream and soaking in all the applause from the crowd; the kind he would cherish for years to come.

He further went on to say, “The level that I played, the level of the match. High-quality of tennis. I mean somebody will win the match today. I mean, Jannik Sinner is a great player. Everybody good to see at this level, just amazing. Honestly, it’s a thank you to all of you. I will…(Struggles for breath) I will never be tired to say…Thanks to you for the support that I received in the bad moment, in the whole match is… just unbelievable. I couldn’t believe the energy that I received, so thank you very much.

The Spaniard has been fighting with all his might to show he deserves this title, and he’s not giving up yet.

On Friday, September 9th, 2022, at the 2022 US Open, No. 4 seeded Carlos Alcaraz will compete against No. 1 seed and home favorite Frances Tiafoe. Tiafoe secured his spot in the semifinal after defeating Russian Andrey Rublev in a three-setter on Wednesday, September 7th.
