However, ever since his retirement from the sport, his fans in China have been missing the Swiss player.

Reflecting on the same, the 20-time grand slam winner came in with a special message to his fans. After a prolonged absence, the Swiss maestro has broken his silence to reveal his return to Shanghai which has sent shockwaves to his fans.

Roger Federer is eager to get to China “after many many years”

In a recent message to his fans, tennis icon Roger Federer expressed his excitement for his upcoming trip to Shanghai. This will mark his return to China after many years. After announcing his retirement back in 2022, he’s kept himself busy with family and friends. Federer shared his anticipation for the ‘Uniqlo around the world’ event scheduled for October 18th, which kicked off successfully in New York with the participation of artists and young children.

“Hello, everybody. I hope everybody is doing well. It’s been a while since I’ve visited China the last time. It’s been actually many many years. I’ve been keeping myself very busy you know of course with friends and families.”

Retirement has treated me well and I cannot wait to go back to China and go back to Shanghai on October 18th. I hope you can join me for ‘Uniqlo around the world’ where we had a great kick-off event already in New York with artists, then also young children. So I hope I see you there. I hope everybody’s well and take care and I see you there. Shanghai Jian,” said Roger Federer while confirming his arrival to China soon.

This announcement breaks Federer’s silence about his Shanghai Masters appearance, and fans worldwide eagerly look forward to witnessing the legendary athlete’s return to the tennis court. After being out of the tennis courts, Federer will get the chance to connect with his fans yet again as he builds the excitement to get back to China.

However, before his Uniqlo tour, Federer was supposed to make a return to the Shanghai Masters. After the heroics that he did on the courts in Shanghai, he was supposed to be given a special award.
