Distressed Nick Kyrgios Receives American Legend Andre Agassi’s Poignant Advice From Painful Past Experience

Former world number 1 Andre Agassi may have left tennis but he continues to make his presence known in other sports like pickleball with his wife Steffi Graf. However, owing to the current situation of Nick Kyrgios, Andre Agassi opened up about how he has also been through the same journey and how he could relate to the Australian tennis star.

In an interview, he opened up about the fact that Kyrgios is very brave for being able to share his personal battles with the world and be so open about it. It is certainly not easy for anyone to be so vocal and this made Agassi feel that he could relate to him.

In a recent interview with The Age, Andre Agassi talked about the situation of Nick Kyrgios and how he is currently on break yet again for another tournament season due to his injuries. He then referred to his own journey and how he went through the same thing as Kyrgios.

Agassi added, “When I was at my lowest after I was No.1 in the world, I felt like I had to rebuild when I kind of got disconnected from the game. If I [got to] spend time with him [Kyrgios] … for me the most important thing is to understand who somebody is, where somebody’s at, and meeting him where that is. Because regardless of what demons one fights with, if you think they’re real, they exist, so you have to deal with them.”

Not only did he find his story similar to Kyrgios’, but he also added that he would like to meet with him and help him get through it using his own experience. Even though Kyrgios did not get a chance to play at the Australian Open, he sure will be attending it as he got the chance to cover the tournament with Eurosport.

Even though the Australian bad boy is not getting to play at the tournament due to his injuries, he still gets to be a part of the tournament up close as he would be covering the matches with the team of Eurosport. He will be joining their on-site commentary team at the Australian Open 2024 in Melbourne.

This will for now keep him busy and connected to the sport so that he can recover but still be up to date and close to the sport he loves. He will provide commentary on the tournament for 2 weeks from the booth with a bonus camera stream so people can see him in action.
