Dominic Thiem Picks Novak Djokovic As ‘Absolute’ Favorite at Wimbledon Championships 2021, But Says Don’t Write Off Roger Federer

Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem may be out of action but he has been copiously following all the action at All England.
The Austrian withdrew mid-match in his tournament opener at Mallorca after a pop in his right wrist put him out of the contest.
However, he doesn’t want to dwell on his struggles and setbacks and instead, sit back and enjoy the action unravelling on the lawns of All England.

In an interview with Sky News, Austria, Thiem picked Novak Djokovic as an absolute favorite to defend his title.

However, he added that he would never count Roger Federer out of the race as he is “such a good player”.
Thiem says he would rather be out there playing Wimbledon
“Never write off Federer. He is such a legend, such a good player. I’m looking forward to the matches. I’d rather be there but it’s still interesting to watch from a distance,” Thiem added.
On the status of his injury, the Austrian said he has injured right wrist in a splint.
The 27-year-old said he has been advised to wear the splint for five weeks and will continue that way for another five weeks, which might make him an injury doubt for the US Open.
On how determined he is to return to action at the Flushing Meadows, Thiem said it was one of his favorite calendar tournaments even before he won it and he would love nothing more than to be back doing what he does best.
