Roger Federer is just not an ambassador of tennis but has also inspired many athletes from different fields. He has been an inspiration to many basketball players, cricketers, and even footballers. One such player is the FIFA Best Player of the Year 2020, Robert Lewandowski, who recently expressed his love and respect for the Swiss Maestro.

In a recent video titled 10 Things Robert Lewandowski Can’t Live Without, Lewandowski accepted that Roger Federer had been a great role model for him. The legendary Polish footballer also highlighted that Federer is one of those few athletes who are still at the top of their game at the age of 40.

“He is a great role model, not just for other athletes, but also for me. He has been a sportsman who has been playing at the top level for years and also shows what a great person he is,” said Lewandowski.

Interestingly, the Bayern Munich striker was holding Federer’s biography in his hands, which means that the book is one of the ten most essential items in his life. He believes that Federer is a great person who still continues to inspire him.

Robert Lewandowski admits that he hasn’t met Roger Federer yet

Even though Lewandowski praised Federer a lot, he admitted that he hasn’t met Federer in his life yet. However, he revealed that he has met World No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

“Roger? No. But Novak,” replied the Polish player when asked if he had ever met Federer.

Lewandowski will surely like to meet Federer at least once before the Swiss Maestro bids goodbye to the sport. Like Federer, he too is a top-level athlete who has won six trophies with his club FC Bayern Munich last season.
