While Tsitsipas will be looking to find an answer to Isner’s high and well-directed serves, the latter will surely devise a strategy to counter the formers’ deadly forehands. The Greek player has used them to find momentum during the whole clay-court season and hits them at a really quick speed.
Stefanos Tsitsipas v John Isner: Head-to-Head
The two have faced each other on five occasions before this, with Tsitsipas leading the battle 3-2 right now. Interestingly, it’ll be the first time they cross paths on clay.
Their last meeting was in the pre-quarters of the Mexican Open 2021, where Tsitsipas crushed Isner in straight sets. Intriguingly, it is the former who has emerged as the winner in their last three encounters.

Even though Isner is in great form at the moment, it’ll be really hard for him to stop Tsitsipas. The World No.5 has played some really good tennis this season and has been quite successful on clay. At the most, Isner can stretch it to the fourth set but it is highly unlikely that the 22-year-old will lose the match.
Isner can only give some tough competition if he manages to serve well consistently. He has delivered a lot of aces this season and will look forward to carrying his momentum against Tsitsipas as well.
