Tennis fans have been treated to some breathtaking entertainment all throughout this season. Non-stop action from hard court tennis to the flamboyance of the Olympics, they’ve had it all. However, this action is far from over as big news from the US Open makes its way to world headlines. However, the focus shifts to a heartbroken Stan Wawrinka who hasn’t returned to the court, ever since his foot surgery in June 2021.
Disappointment for Stan Wawrinka
The three-time Grand Slam champion started his season in March, playing in a rather laid-back style. However, if his performance wasn’t enough, June came bearing twice as more upsetting news. The Swiss international had to undergo two operations on his foot, both of which saw him rest out most of the season.
It was only the second time Stan had to undergo an operation in his career. Speaking of the same, he said, “The last few months have been difficult. I had two operations on my foot, and the second was six weeks ago. I just took the cast off, so that’s my first time since can walk normally again for six weeks.”
