“He Gets So Many Balls Back”: Miomir Kecmanovic Reveals the Challenges He Faced While Facing Novak Djokovic at Serbian Open 2021

The Serbian Open 2021 is going on right now and fans are witnessing some quality tennis there. In the quarter-finals of the tournament, World No.1 Novak Djokovic defeated his fellow counterpart Miomir Kecmanovic. The Serbian legend enjoyed a convincing victory as he crushed his opponent in straight sets. The final scoreline of the match was 6-1, 6-3.
In the post-match interview, Miomir Kecmanovic revealed how was his experience playing against Novak Djokovic. The 21-year-old admitted that he faced a lot of difficulty in facing him on clay.
“Yeah, it was tough to play him especially on clay where it’s a little bit slower with him being so fast. It’s tough to make points and be aggressive all the time just because he gets so many balls back,” told Kecmanovic in an interview with EssentiallySports.com.

The Serbian player highlighted that the World No.1 player was extremely fast on the court. He also stated that it was tough to play aggressive tennis against him as he has a fabulous return.

Even though the final scoreline depicts a different story, Kecmanovic reflected that he had a few chances in the matches. However, he said that he failed to capitalize on them. He believes that if he would have played a little better tennis, the result would have been different.
“I had a few chances and I just wished that I could have used some of them. Then maybe it could have been a little bit different. But just to try to play a lot better in some of those important points,” added the 21-year-old Serbian.
