Who can forget the epic encounter between Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semis of the French Open 2020? Although Djokovic ultimately won the match, he faced a lot of difficulty in doing so. Djoker earned a match-point in the third set, but Tsitsipas fought back and took the match to the last set. The final scoreline of the match was 3-6, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, 1-6.
In a recent interview, Stefanos Tsitsipas remembered that great battle. He said that it was a very disappointing and sad moment for him to have come so close and ending up on the losing side.
“I fell in a very close fifth set to Djokovic in the semi-finals. It was very unfortunate and very saddening to leave the court with an injury. I wasn’t able to perform in the fifth set. He knocked me out. He just squeezed everything out of me…It was very sad that it ended that way,” said Tsitsipas in a recent interview.
