‘He Really Gives a S**T’- American Tennis Legend Andre Agassi Says He Would Pick John McEnroe Over Pete Sampras in the Education Scenario

Andre Agassi, the American tennis legend, retired from professional tennis in the year 2006. He has 8 times Grand Slams to his name and 60 career titles in total. Further, he represented and brought America a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Speaking of his rivals, Agassi ruled the court alongside Pete Sampras and John McEnroe. However, he was rivals with them only on the court. Beyond that, Agassi was friends with them and admired them. Therefore, to this date, he gets swamped by questions related to Sampras and McEnroe.

Who can Andre Agassi trust?

Recently, while speaking to the press, the tennis veteran stumbled upon the question of who he would prefer between Sampras and McEnroe if he had to transfer his vision for education. He said, “one of the things that I appreciated, respected and sometimes envied and hated about Pete was how easy he made it look. Because he never looked like he was stressed up. He just did what he did.”

Thereafter, he added, “McEnroe he played the game so uniquely that you go. How did somebody do it? He would get so pissed off because he knew it wasn’t easy for him, right. So like that to me in education would be the defining characteristic. If I had to turn it over, I would take Mac because he’s unique. He’s out of the box, but he really gives a s**t.

Agassi, since his retirement, is running the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation. The foundation raises funds to help at-risk children at Nevada. They were able to raise enough to build a college in 2001. Currently, the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy functions as a K-2 public charter institution.

Players Agassi has trained

Starting with the former World No.1 and 20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. The 52-year-old trained Djokovic from the year 2017 to 2018.

Following that, he collaborated with the Bulgarian tennis ace and former World No.3 Grigor Dimitrov. Agassi guided him in between the years 2018 and 2020 and helped him achieve his first semifinals run in the US Open. But as Dimitrov suffered some injuries during the period, the duo could not get their hands on any major trophies.
