Elon Musk is making the headlines ever since he acquired a 9.2% stake in the social media company, Twitter. Subsequently, Twitter went crazy after news emerged of his acquisition of the company. Earlier this month, the Tesla CEO acquired Twitter for around $44 billion. However, since his takeover, many iconic tennis players have been losing followers on Twitter. Opelka is having one of the best starts to his season. Moreover, the 24-year-old has already won two titles this year in Dallas and Houston. Additionally, he also made it to the finals in Delray Beach. It has resulted in him rising to the 17th spot on the ATP rankings chart.

Reilly Opelka voices his disappointment on Elon Musk’s Twitter deal
One of the reasons for Musk’s acquisition of Twitter was his aim to protect freedom of expression. Further, Opelka had a series of arguments on Twitter involving a fan and tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg along with him. It all began with Rothenberg criticizing Djokovic’s actions at the Serbia Open where he threw a ball in frustration that nearly hit a fan.
However, slamming him for his comments, Opelka said, “The good news here, is you lose so much credibility every time you spread misinformation. The bad news is, you don’t face any consequences (revoking of media credential) for being incredibly biased and blatantly lying.”
