Fernando Verdasco, who saw an early exit in Wimbledon, has announced some positive fitness update ahead of the US Open 2021. Notably, it was after his loss that the 37-year-old realised an inflammation on his left elbow again. Thus, he decided to undergo a minor procedure under medical advice to cure the trouble.
Although it took him four weeks to fully recover, the Spaniard is back on the court practising. Moreover, he is optimistic and looking forward to seeing good results on the ATP Tour ahead.

Fernando Verdasco posts recovery journey
In a recent Instagram post, Verdasco shared the entire journey from the hospital bed to the tennis court with fans. Also, he explained his decision to do the minor procedure.
“4 weeks ago, when I finished Wimbledon with my elbow inflamed again after my first-round match, I decided with my doctor and my team to have a small procedure in my left elbow to solve a mechanical problem that had been bothering me for a very long time,” Verdasco said.

Furthermore, Verdasco thanked the medical staff, family, and coach, and he also expressed his hopes for the 2021 season. Above all, he penned his excitement to be back on the court and eagerness to compete soon.
“Thanks to my doctor (Frank) and @rennbahnklinik, physios, coaches and family, today I’m back in the game, and soon I will be competing again. Can’t wait for that to happen,” the Spaniard added. “It’s been a hard road, but I’m very positive, and I know that very good things are about to happen.”

From the ease of his movements in the video, it is clear that the former World No.7 will be back on the ATP Tour soon. He last played against Bulgarian World No.18 Grigor Dimitrov, losing to him 6-3, 3-6, 4-6, 4-6 in Wimbledon opening round.
