‘Jannik and Carlos Winning the Two Big Ones Federer Hogged Every Year’- Novak Djokovic’s 2nd ATP Awards Snub Divides Tennis Fans

This year ATP awards went wild as Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner stole the show by winning two massive recognitions. However, this didn’t go too well with Serbian tennis god, Novak Djokovic‘s fans. While half of the tennis fraternity is in the mood for celebration for this Spaniard and Italian tennis prodigies, some from the veteran tennis community felt Djokovic was a more deserving candidate.

While Djokovic won the Nitto ATP Finals 2023 with an outstanding performance, he just received the ATP No. 1. award from Pepperstone. However, Sinner and Alcaraz made their astonishing victories by winning two prestigious awards previously bagged by Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer. Now, Djokovic fans are a little upset with these results.

While Spanish tennis star, Carlos Alcaraz won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, Jannik Sinner was titled the Most Improved Player of the Year with Fans’ Favorite Award in tennis singles. It was Federer who won these two titles consecutively.

While Matteo Arnaldi, Ben Shelton, and Christopher Eubak were also nominated for Sinner’s title. Ultimately Italy’s rising star took it home. However, Alcaraz’s recognition is quite special since it is voted by the ATP players for professionalism, fair play, and tennis integrity. It was surely a great achievement for Alcaraz since Jannik Sinner was also nominated in the category. Well, Djokovic fans had a hard time digesting that.

’How Can You Please Everybody? – Carlos Alcaraz Slammed by Tennis Legend Jimmy Connors Over Petty Complaints at ATP Finals

Now Novak Djokovic surely surprised the whole tennis community with their astonishing tennis skills at thirty-six. This Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, which Federer previously won was something fans wanted for Djokovic. However, 2023 didn’t end too well for the Serbian tennis legend. Not to mention, his fans are truly disappointed.

Fans express mixed emotions over this year’s ATP stars, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz

After the results of the ATP Awards 2023, the internet seemed divided over Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Novak Djokovic. Some fans were happy for Sinner and Alcaraz’s big win. They commented-“Jannik and Carlos winning the two big ones Federer hogged every year, damn.” Some fans were spotted truly appreciative of the result- “another month-long breakdown for them.”

However, it didn’t go well with Djokovic fans as they wrote- “Why didn’t Djokovic win?” (in translation). There were numerous sad posts for the Serbian tennis star-“What about Djokovic?” “Disappointed fans commented with sarcastic GIFs.

Not that everyone went against the verdict. Alcaraz fans were surely over the moon with their favorite tennis star receiving a prestigious ATP recognition. They commented- “golden boy finally got one that’s why we love to see.” People chanted Alcaraz’s name like the god almost- “No one deserves it more @carlosalcaraz.”

This year’s ATP Awards truly divided the internet. While Sinner and Alcaraz fans are finally tuning into the happy spirit of festivities, Djokovic fans seemed taken aback by the result. Nevertheless, this year’s ATP Awards gave fans a truly thrilling experience. What do you think?
