It has all come down to the semi-finals of the Australian Open and Novak Djokovic will be looking to make it through to yet another final and clinch the title. With 10 titles already to his name, he will be hunting for his 11th. However, standing his way in the final 4 will be none other than the dominant force of Jannik Sinner. While both players look in red-hot form, the match will be a pure joy to watch.

However, right before the start of the match, Jannik Sinner got a major boost. A tennis enthusiast, in his podcast, came ahead and talked about why the young Italian could be a tough match-up for the Serbian sensation.

In a recent revelation, Gill Gross, a famous tennis YouTuber, and a tennis enthusiast, came ahead and talked about Jannik Sinner’s chances while coming into the semi-final match against Novak Djokovic. While suggesting that he has certainly improved himself in the big matches, he never managed to make his way from the semi-finals.

Not only this, he added that there are also nerve management issues that could trouble him a bit.

But concluding things, he suggested that the Italian is a great opponent and could provide a tough skill for skill competition. He could cover the court as much as the Serbian can do and thus, it will be a great match to follow. “Again somebody like Sinner who has started to come through big matches more and more but never made a major semifinal and there is a history of nerve management issues with Jannik as well. For Sinner I do think skill for skill, he can run with Novak,” said Gross in the podcast.

Thus, ahead of the mouth-watering encounter between the two, the Italian got major backing from the tennis enthusiast as he suggested that he could give the Serbian a tough challenge.

When it comes to the head-to-head statistics between the two, the Serbian is leading by a fine margin. However last year, these two were a stiff competition with each other.

Sinner and Djokovic won 2 matches each against each other last year

The Italian player, despite lagging in the head-to-head stats against the Serbian, gave him some tough competition last year. As it stands, the head-to-head stats lead is with the world number 1 as he leads 4 wins to 2. But, last year, these two faced each other 4 times. Out of that, Sinner managed to come out victorious on 2 occasions.

His first win came at the group stage of the Nitto ATP Finals. On the other hand, his second win came in the semi-finals of the Davis Cup. The young Italian managed to take Team Italy into the finals post, they landed their hands on the title.
