Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has started the year 2022 in spectacular fashion. Nick won the doubles title at the Australian Open with his fellow Aussie ace Thanasi Kokkinakis. After losing to Daniil Medvedev in the second round in the singles match, his doubles win with Kokkinakis was an impressive footnote.
Nick has always been an entertainer, whether it’s on the court or off the court. His easygoing attitude sometimes can be annoying but entertaining most of the time. However, Nick recently revealed some of his darker moments, which forced him into some tough spots.

“No one knows what I went through, all the hardships I went through. I was hurt… I had bad thoughts about life, but I always have someone behind me that I trust. I support my loved ones,” Kyrgios shared with his fans about mental health.
Nick also revealed his troubled relationship with his family a few years ago. “My relationship with my family was not great a few years ago, for that I was always gone and I didn’t have them with me, I was winning, I was losing, I was having problems in relationships, I felt that the world was against me,” Nick revealed.

“I travel 7 months a year to new places every week, which is why tennis is so hard, in my opinion. Mental play is ridiculously difficult. Physically, you have to be an animal,” Nick further said. [h/t eurosport.ro]
Nick is in a better place right now
Nick found a new momentum after winning the doubles title at the Australian Open this year. Right now, he’s very close to his family and has a beautiful partner. “I won a few major tournaments, I played some amazing matches. It’s the first place for me. It’s been a tough few years. I had a little time before the Australian Open, but my team and my beautiful girlfriend took care of me,” Nick said.

Although Kyrgios hasn’t played in any tournament since the Australian Open, he’s in a much better place currently. The 26-year-old will get a load of confidence for the upcoming tournaments. He will try to play his best tennis in the few masters tournaments and then focus on Wimbledon, as he decided to skip clay-court tennis.
