Carlos Alcaraz Garfia grabbed everyone’s attention from the beginning of this year with his impeccable performance. The Serbian tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, could not help but admire the astounding performance of the young player. However, he also feels that his arch-rival, Rafael Nadal, will not leave his chance to get to the top replacing Alcaraz as this would be his only chance to do so.
Alcaraz is World No 1 at the moment, followed by Rafael Nadal in the second spot.

Novak Djokovic sees Rafael Nadal dethroning Carlos Alcaraz
The Serbian tennis star did not have a great year on the court. However, whatever chances he got, he made sure to do his best and get the best out of those opportunities. But that does not hold him back from complimenting the players who have performed well on the circuit this year. In a recent interview, he talked about Alcaraz’s performance. He said, “Alcaraz is the first in the world, and he is the best. He absolutely deserves to be where he is, I congratulate him on all his successes.”
Moreover, he also talked about his contribution to the sport and stated, “I think it’s great for tennis that such a young guy records such historic results because it attracts a lot of new attention and fresh blood to tennis so we all benefit from that.” However, he also did not shy away from pointing out that Nadal will not let go of the opportunity to clinch the top ranking at the ATP Finals. He said, “I’m sure that Nadal will also try to dethrone him at the end of this year because he has the only chance to do it.”

Novak Djokovic also talked about himself and his ranking. His ranking got affected by his lack of participation and Wimbledon got stripped of its ranking points. He stated, “The ranking shows that I played less, that’s a fact, a lot of points were taken away, and Wimbledon didn’t count.”
How will things pan out at the ATP Finals in 2022?
Despite facing a lot of challenges this year, Novak Djokovic secured a spot at the ATP Finals which will take place in Turin, Italy. The Serbian player will try to equalize his count of ATP Finals titles with that of Roger Federer. The Swiss Maestro has six ATP finals titles and Djokovic has five. Apart from that, both Alcaraz and Nadal, who have performed their A-game this year will try to clinch the season’s end title.
