Nick Kyrgios has been absent from the tennis tour ever since he was injured in January. Despite his absence, the Aussie still appears in the capacity of a player in interviews and on social media. Recently, he appeared on the Piers Morgan uncensored show, where the two had banter after Morgan name-dropped Roger Federer out of nowhere.

The two bantered about a moment of Kyrgios from the 2022 Wimbledon. During one of his post-match press conferences, Kyrgios was snacking as he discussed an important point with the journalists. He touched upon the point as Morgan served to aggravate him slightly.

Annoyed at his statement, Kyrgios said, “But I’m not Roger Federer. You can’t expect everyone to be Roger Federer, you can’t do that; it’s unfair. That means 99% of tennis tour are not up to Roger Federer’s standards. That’s sport, that’s personality. He also has nine people in his team to make sure he has food ready. I only have 3.”

Kyrgios’ infamous argument at the 2022 Wimbledon

The Aussie bad boy reached the final of the Wimbledon in 2022, his first slam final, which became a highlight of his career. However, before the final, his outburst at a linesperson became well known. He played against Paul Jubb in the first round and blew up at a linesperson when they made an incorrect call, saying that they couldn’t see the ball because they were in their 90s.

While giving his response, Kyrgios was eating sushi and said that if the person was arguably 40, they would’ve seen that the shot was in. The moment became a glaring part of his 2022 Wimbledon tour, and the following press conference also added to another one of his infamous controversial moments.
