Roger Federer Reacts to Receiving Yet Another Incredible Honor in Switzerland

There is no doubt in saying that Roger Federer enjoys love and admiration of millions of fans across the globe. The Swiss star has also been the recipient of several accolades on the ATP tour as well as from the Switzerland government.
Adding to the list of such honours, a special tram has been named in the honor of Roger Federer in his hometown, Basel. Different aspects of Federer’s professional tennis career were part of the tram as the Swiss Maestro got himself a special throwback of his achievements on the tennis tour so far.

Roger Federer took to twitter to express gratitude for unique honor bestowed by Basel
The 20-time grand slam champion took to twitter to express his happiness over the incredible honor.

It was indeed a special occasion for the Swiss Maestro as he gears up for a return to the ATP tour next year. Off court, Federer made a surprise entry at the TG Garden in Boston and watched team Europe lift the Laver Cup for the fourth consecutive time.
The former World No.1 played only a handful of matches this year and a possibly glorious comeback at Wimbledon was hampered by the young Polish talent Hubert Hurkacz in the quarter-finals.
Federer not just suffered a defeat but got himself a bagel in the third set as Hurkacz steered past the Swiss emphatically.

Federer is yet to reveal his plans for the 2022 ATP season
Post SW19, the Swiss star made it clear that he wouldn’t be participating in any other event for the rest of the year and later announced his decision to undergo a third knee surgery this year.

Even though there is no official statement from Federer regarding his knee status, it would be sensible for him to plan his comeback on the grass court season next year, prioritizing Wimbledon once again.
With Novak Djokovic in top form at slams followed by the rise of youngsters like Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and others, it would be incredibly difficult for the Swiss Maestro to get his hands on yet another major title.

But, Federer fans will be hoping for a 2017-like comeback from the Swiss superstar next year and would want him to enjoy stupendous success on the ATP tour.
