Alcaraz served to Sinner, which was returned with a forehand drive. The two traded shot after shot; when Alcaraz hit a forehand cross-court, it forced Sinner out of the court. Despite that, the Italian star managed to return a powerful shot.

Alcaraz hit down the line and moved up the court. Sinner tried to put the ball past him but Alcaraz returned a volley. A lob attempt from Sinner forced Alcaraz to take a few steps back, however he managed a drop shot and moved back to the baseline, which forced Sinner to the net. After the Italian moved towards the net, the Spaniard masterfully executed a lob which won him the point.
