“This Decision is Not an Easy One”: Milos Raonic Joins Roger Federer Ahead of Rogers Cup 2021

Former World No.3 Milos Raonic recently got eliminated in the very first round of the Atlanta Open 2021. The Canadian star is not enjoying some great form on tour but there is some worse news coming up for his fans.
Milos Raonic recently withdrew from the Rogers Cup 2021. The tournament will be beginning on August 8, 2021, and will stretch till August 15, 2021. Playing at his home, it was the perfect scenario for the Canadian to regain his form and momentum but that will not happen now.

In a recent tweet, Raonic updated the fans about his withdrawal. He is clearly disappointed that he couldn’t play in front of his home crowd- a thing he was planning to do for quite some long time.
“I am heartbroken and saddened to have to withdraw from this years National Bank Open. Playing at home in front of Canadian fans was something I was looking forward to after a long and trying period over the recent year and a half,” wrote Raonic on Twitter.
Raonic shocked everyone when he reached the finals of the Rogers Cup 2013. Even though he lost to Rafael Nadal in the finals, it remains his best performance at the Masters 1000 tournament.

“I have to make the right choice”- Milos Raonic after withdrawing from the Rogers Cup 2021
Raonic is not fully fit at the moment. He stated that although it is a tough decision to withdraw, he has to make the right choice. The Canadian also thanked the management of the tournament for organizing the event at such tough times.
“I am grateful for all the work that has gone into making the event happen. As well I would like to thank all the essential workers that have gotten us here for this to be possible. This decision is not an easy one but I have to make the right choice so I can recover and be back on court as soon as possible,” added the 30-year-old.
