VIDEO: Novak Djokovic Weeps and Collapses In-Front of His Mother Amid Overwhelming Emotions in a Historic Australian Open Title Win

And it’s history for Serbia! The Serbian Ace, Novak Djokovic, cemented his prowess and name in history by claiming the 10th Australian Open title. However, nothing comes easy. As the World No.5 claimed his 1st Grand Slam of the season, he couldn’t control his emotion. The Serb sealed the deal, after claiming the third set on the third championship point, of the tiebreaker and getting better of Stefanos Tsitsipas in a 3-set thriller.

Post the championship point, Djokovic pointed towards his mind, somewhere pointing out that it was more of a mind game for the Serb, and in the end, he prevailed. And right after winning the championship point, Djokovic rushed toward the players’ box, celebrating with his family and team. However, it was a tear-eyes celebration for the World No.5, after being unable to defend his title last year, due to Covid-19 regulations.

After winning the title and addressing the crowd, Djokovic ran straight toward the players’ box. It’s only natural for players to hug their family, coach, and team after a much-deserved win but, for Djokovic, it was much more. As he climbed inside the box, hugged his mother and brother. And while hugging his brother, Djokovic started getting emotional, before collapsing down on his back and sobbing uncontrollably. The 10th Australian Open certainly meant more than the Serb could have imagined.

It was a terrific match, as the Greek tennis star, Tsitsipas wasn’t ready to give up until the very last point of the championship. And the Serb has to battle for every point. This fighting spirit of the two finalists, was what led to the match to go into two tie breaks, once in the 2nd set and another time in the final set. The match ended with the final score 3-6, 6-7,6-7, in favor of the Serb

Though in the end, it was the Serbian ace, who snatched the title from the Greek; claiming his record 10th title on the hard court; An unmatched feat, and a display of sheer dominance by the World No.5.
