The Australian tennis professional Nick Kyrgios’s life isn’t all about tennis. He doesn’t mind missing seasons if his mind isn’t in the right state or his body isn’t prepared enough for the pressure. For example, this year only he sat out the entire clay swing. Therefore, fans are somewhat aware that Kyrgios might not linger around after playing tennis to his heart’s content. Though the recent revelation from his end sparked debate amongst fans.
The 27-year-old, who made his debut in the Grand Slam finals this year only, has released a statement about his retirement. Although Kyrgios isn’t stern on the decision, he is surely considering the option of hanging his racket after he turns 30.

The Aussie during a Q and A session on Instagram very casually yet clearly disclosed his intentions. He wrote, “Honestly, I probably won’t (play past 30).”

“I wanna be able to not be bothered. Probably gonna go to my house in Bahamas and just sit and do nothing,” he added. Upon stumbling on this piece, fans flooded social media. Here’s how his decision is perceived. While some opted for a sarcastic tone and wrote stuff like. “Good for tennis.”

Kyrgios has had several meltdowns over the years and is very vocal about things that he doesn’t approve of. Also, many fans believe that he lacks dedication and have raised questions about his consistency as well.
What is Kyrgios up to these days?
The 2022 Wimbledon Championships finalist created history at the Citi Open by claiming both the singles and doubles titles. He also made a quarterfinal run in the Canadian masters and the US Open. Thereafter, he signed up for the Japan Open.

However, he was forced to withdraw his name from the hard court-based ATP 500 event because of the knee injury. Thus, leaving him heartbroken. Kyrgios made up to the quarterfinals in singles and semifinals in doubles along with compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis.
