After giving the fans a first week filled with some incredible tennis, the Wimbledon Championships 2021 have reached its second week. The action will not be any less intriguing there as tennis stars including Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, and others will light up London on Monday.

Here are a few important matches that will be taking place on day eight of the Grand Slam-

Denis Shapovalov v Roberto Bautista Agut

It’ll surely be the most exciting match tomorrow as two great players will encounter each other in the pre-quarters of the Wimbledon Championships 2021. While Denis Shapovalov recently thrashed Andy Murray in straight sets, Roberto Bautista Agut did the same to Dominic Koepfer in the third set.

Novak Djokovic v Cristian Garin

Novak Djokovic recently entered the second week of the Wimbledon Championships 2021 for the 13th straight time. He’ll be facing Cristian Garin, who defeated Pedro Martinez in four sets in the third round, in the round of 16.

This will be the second time when Djokovic will meet Garin in a singles encounter. The World No.1 player already has a 1-0 lead over him as he steamrolled over him at the ATP Cup 2020.

Alexander Zverev v Felix Auger-Aliassime

World No.6 Alexander Zverev recently battled past Taylor Fritz in four sets in the third round of the Grand Slam. He is enjoying some superb form and is playing some really great tennis on grass. On the other hand, Felix Auger-Aliassime got a walkover in the third round as his opponent, Nick Kyrgios, injured himself during the match.

Their head-to-head battle currently stands at 3-0 in Zverev’s favor. Interestingly, the German has defeated Aliassime in straight sets on all three occasions. However, this will be the first time when they’ll cross their paths on grass.

Daniil Medvedev v Hubert Hurkacz

World No.2 Daniil Medvedev recently made a phenomenal comeback against Marin Cilic in the third round of Wimbledon 2021. He won the match after losing the first two sets and shocked almost everyone. His to-be-opponent, Hubert Hurkacz, has also been playing some brilliant tennis on grass this season and steamrolled over Alexander Bublik in the third round.

Roger Federer v Lorenzo Sonego

Roger Federer battled past Cameron Norrie in the third round of the major. The Swiss Maestro looks in some great form and can surely win his 21st Grand Slam title in London this year. He will face Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego, who has just lost a single set at the Grand Slam so far, in the Centre Court.
