The Greek has been touching the headlines quite a lot recently, but not for a good reason. He keeps getting indulged in arguments with either his opponents or chair umpires. The latest incident is from the ongoing Cincinnati Masters. He and his father irritated Diego Schwartzman with constant chatter.

What made Schwartzman angry?

The Argentine was angered by the interaction between the two. Apostolos Tsitsipas is one of the World No.7’s coaches and has a reputation for being a distraction. During the round of 16 clash, in between the points, Tsitsipas was constantly indulging in discussions with his father. As a response to which frustrated Schwartzman approached the umpire and complained, “Tell me one people who likes his father.”

Further, what irked the former World No.8 the most was them choosing English over Greek when he was present at their end. A while ago ATP No.4, Carlos Alcaraz also hinted at a foul play from his end.

The 19-year-old Spanish tennis player questioned the timing and length of Tsitsipas’ bathroom break. The latter took a break in a crucial moment of the quarterfinals match of the Barcelona Open.

With all the ruckus created by his team, the match still favored Tsitsipas. The 24-year-old was way ahead of Schwartzman and took an easy straight-set win of 6-3 6-3. The 2022 Monte Carlo Masters champion will now lock horns with John Isner for a seat in the last four of the tournament.

The 2021 French Open finalist will meet Isner for the seventh time on the hard court of the Cincinnati Masters. Currently, he leads 4-2 against the American tennis professional. However, their last tussle was in 2021.

Therefore, with experience being washed off over time, the former World No.8 might have a chance to narrow the drift. They will square off in the Centre Court of the ATP 1000 event on Saturday. Who, according to you, will make it to the semifinals of the tournament?
