One such player is Carlos Alcaraz Garfia who has left a mark in the hearts of tennis enthusiasts with his astonishing performance once again by defending his title at the Madrid Open.

The Swiss Maestro seems a bit gloomy about the absence of Rafael Nadal. However, he is still vouching for his former rival Novak Djokovic to show a strong performance.

During an interview at Miami Grand Prix, he shared his thoughts on the possibility of Rafa’s withdrawal from the French Open. He stated, “It will be brutal. It’ll be tough for tennis if Rafa wasn’t not going to be there. I still hope so. I saw he pulled out of Rome so I wish him the best.”

Moving on to talk about his next biggest rival, the Serbian tennis legend, he stated, “Obviously, Novak also hasn’t played that much so I hope he’s gonna be strong as well.”

Apart from these two, the rise of young players like Carlos Alcaraz Garfia has caught the eye of the Swiss Maestro too. He stated, “And obviously, all the young guys coming through as well. I’ll be watching, that’s for sure.” 

Carlos Alcaraz is now bracing up for yet another Grand Slam at French Open 2023. The probable absence of Rafael Nadal is yet another reason to make him the crowd’s favorite.
